There are, according to everything I've read, about 74 million of us in this country, about 29% of the population, and when you think about it, for better or worse, we have shaped the country and the world. Most of us started out being raised in traditional Ozzie and Harriet homes, hit the 60's, and decided to challenge the system, change the world, and generally be a pain in the neck to authority in general. It's also impressive to note that many well known celebrities in entertainment, politics, news, ect. are all boomers too. This might just explain some of our problems, since the official opinion of our generation is that we considered ourselves somewhat special in the universe. Not all of our changes were bad, and some were long overdue, however, the older and more mature we get, as in all generations, the more important our parent's values seem. Strange as it seems, we are fast approaching retirement, and there are a lot of factors that we "special people" are not entirely equipped to deal with. I certainly don't know the answers, since I am still in denial concerning my next birthday. However, I hope I can pass along whatever I learn as we all approach this new beginning.
I am from a very small Midwestern town in Ohio, and although I have traveled quite a bit, I always end up here where my roots are.
I majored in history, political science and geography in college.
I'm interested in just about everything and love doing research, going to baseball games,
fishing, gardening,cooking,
flea markets, and road trips with the family.
